Location:

Throughout the north west, Leeds, and Wales

Client:

St John’s Ambulance, Propertyserve UK/Fresenius, Mental Health Care UK Ltd, NHS

Site use:

Hospital Dialysis Units, a Rehabilitation Unit, and St John’s Ambulance headquarters.

Overview:

Healthcare sites are home to some of the most hard-working employees across the nation. They’re often open 24/7 and provide vital treatments, so any maintenance issues need to be sorted fast and reliably with minimal disruption.

The Propertyserve UK/Frenesius sites we serve include seven Dialysis Units throughout the North West, providing services tailored to people with kidney issues. These sites offer appointments, consultations, and dialysis treatments.

We work across the north west and Wales for Landwood and Mental Health Care UK Ltd. who provide open rehabilitation, habilitation, treatment, and a living environment for people living with a learning disability, autism, or other mental health needs.

St John’s Ambulance are a familiar sight at events and festivals. They’re a volunteer-led health and first aid charity who respond to emergencies in their local community. Their three venues in Stockport, Leeds, and Preston house first aid supplies and ambulance services, and host health and safety training courses.

The PMC team work across 12 sites in total to provide reactive maintenance such as plumbing, joinery and glazing call-outs, planned repairs, fire safety & inspections, and other essential works to keep the sites safe and running smoothly.

The Projects

The Dialysis Unit sites call us regularly, whether that’s for quotes, planned, or reactive maintenance. We recently provided a fire inspection audit which highlighted some essential fire door repairs. After quoting for the fire doors we made sure they were fully compliant with British Standards and fitted within budget.

We also replaced multiple windows and hinges at various Independent Hospitals for Landwood.

PMC provide reactive plumbing repairs for St John’s Ambulance whenever they call. Our team also carried out major re-pointing repairs at the Leeds site in early 2021, making the elevation of the property safe and then repainting all areas.

The challenge: Covid-safe repairs in healthcare environments

All of these sites had the same major challenge – keeping things working without causing disruption to staff, patients, and treatments. Hospital and healthcare settings have specific requirements we need to meet before we even arrive, including confirming operating hours so that we can work around staff and create as little disruption as possible.

There was also the added pressure of staying Covid-safe. PMC have been proudly providing repairs and maintenance for essential sites throughout the pandemic, following all government guidelines and carrying out the same quality service. Our team have adapted to the handwashing, PPE, and new restrictions brilliantly.

Results:

We’re still working with all these clients and providing regular reactive and planned maintenance. They’re thrilled with our quality of service and flexibility and we’re thrilled to keep doing our best work for them, whatever the conditions.
