Overview:
St Paul’s Square is a 400,000 sq ft mixed-use development and the centre of Liverpool’s Central Business District. As well as being home to Lloyds Banking Group, DWF Group, Santander, and the Liverpool Echo, St Paul’s Square also contains over 50 apartments across 10 floors. Its modern public square is a busy area of the city throughout the business week.
This commercial and residential building helps Liverpool to compete with other thriving northern cities like Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, successfully attracting tenancies from both large multinational companies and small independents.
The Challenge – refurbishment with no disruption
The PMC team was hired to refurbish the communal areas of No 4 and No 5 St Paul’s Square, including the lobbies, lifts, hallways, toilets, and communal kitchens. These areas of the building hadn’t been touched for over 5 years and needed a fresh new look that would continue to impress the building’s biggest businesses and their clients.
St Paul’s Square wanted the refurbishment to be professional and speedy, with as little disruption as possible, so PMC had a short amount of time to make it happen out of hours.
How PMC helped:
We’ve worked with St Paul’s Square for over 10 years so they trust us to bring a high level of service and efficiency. PMC was always their first choice.
We met with the client onsite for half a day to discuss their preferences, specifications and budget, then presented them with a number of refurbishment options. The team got to work immediately, decorating walls, ceilings, and skirting boards, before moving onto flooring across all 10 floors.
To keep disruption to a minimum we completed everything out of hours. We also kept the client up to date every day so they knew how the project was progressing and when to expect completion. Correct signage was left to notify people of wet paint and old flooring and skirting boards were removed immediately.
Results:
- Refurbishment completed floor by floor so staff could always come to work as normal.
- St Paul’s Square and their tenants were delighted with the building upgrade.
- DWF Group hired us to refurbish their offices too.
The refurbishment of No 4 and No 5 was successfully completed on schedule floor-by-floor, so the building’s staff and visitors could return to brand new hallways and lobbies the very next day. St Paul’s Square are currently planning their next refurbishment with us.
One of St Paul’s Square’s business tenants, DWF Group, were so impressed with the building’s communal areas they hired us to refurbish their private offices too.
