Halliwell is a social enterprise offering “clinically informed practice” through the medium of education, fostering and residential care throughout the Northwest of England.

Both internal, external and ground services are required on their residential sites and are of both a project and reactive maintenance nature.

Clients need – more than just a DBS checked team:

Halliwell Homes is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children under their care and expects all employees to share this commitment. All post holders, including contractors, are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure Barring Services (DBS) Disclosure.

Halliwell has a duty of care to its residents in terms of maintaining high levels of safety.

For these reasons Halliwell Homes requires a maintenance company that is fully accredited, with the whole team having passed DBS checks. Halliwell homes was looking for a contractor who could deal with large scale works and reactive call outs across the region

Halliwell homes were delighted that PMC was able to offer a team that were all DBS checked, fully accredited and could offer services across the region.

We now provide reactive and projects services at around ten homes run by Halliwell homesThroughout PMC’s years of service for Cedar Harp at Freedom House we have continually corrected and managed issues, and strived to provide quality service at all times.

How we help – Reactive services:

On the reactive side, PMC needed to react quickly to accidents that often the residents themselves have caused: such as broken windows and doors, tiles, flooring and ceilings. Halliwell homes needed to maintain the safety of their residents at all times, so there was an on-call element to our work.

PMC staff needed to maintain a professional service under what may sometimes be difficult circumstances as they may be responding to incidents involving the current safety of the residents.

How we help – Project services:

On the projects side, PMC completed a range of site improvements, including a number of refurbishment projects, flooring, painting, new bathrooms, new kitchens, tarmacking paving etc. These works needed to be performed with building and safety certs and with a view to improving the safety of properties for the residents.

Results:

We have now been providing services to Halliwell homes for the last three years and received positive feedback in relation to the quality and efficiency of our services.
